Resident Programs

We believe that enhancing the quality of life of each individual person is very important. Every effort is made to ensure that the resident’s individual physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs are considered. This is accomplished through the availability of a variety of programs and services provided by a multidisciplinary team.

Activities and Social Living

The recreation department provides recreational and leisure activities for all residents. Qualified recreation specialists staff this department. Programs are based on the needs, wishes and capabilities of the residents. These activities may include exercises, bingo, baking, social events, library services, entertainment, crafts and outings in the community. Activities are posted monthly in the Home and the calendar of activities is distributed to each resident.

Care Conferences

A care conference is a meeting with the resident, their family and the multidisciplinary team to discuss care needs. Care conferences are held four to six weeks following admission and annually thereafter unless the resident’s needs require them more frequently. Residents and/or their representatives are encouraged to participate in the resident’s care conferences. A letter is sent to notify the resident and power of attorney of the date, time and location of the care conference.
